Restore Harrow Green supports FM World’s Rising Stars

Harrow Green - News

As part of Harrow Green’s commitment to support ‘rising’ facilities managers achieve their goals and aspirations the company sponsored FM World’s Rising Stars Reunited Party.

The Rising Stars of FM 2006 were reunited at a party on 3rd June to celebrate their achievements over the past four years.

Sponsored by Harrow Green, the event was held at Globe House, the stunning headquarters of British American Tobacco in London’s Temple district.

The group was welcomed by FM World editor Cathy Hayward who talked about the changes in outlook over the past four years.

“In 2006 many of you admitted frustration at the lack of recognition and appreciation for what you did,” she said.

“This view has changed and talking to you now we found you more positive, believing that better prospects lie ahead for our profession – especially with increased outsourcing, and cost-cutting remaining high on the agenda allowing you to develop closer relationships with your clients, and sustainability still proving essential for enlightened organisations.”

Success and excellence is something that comes from within, said Reg Allen, chairman of Harrow Green. “It’s wonderful to be recognised but it’s how you view yourself that really counts,” he said.

In 2006 FM World launched a campaign to discover who were tomorrow’s FM leaders. After receiving more than 70 nominations from across the industry, a judging panel narrowed the field down to 35.

They ranged from 23 to 35 years old and worked in a mixture of client and supply side. Individually profiled in a special issue in August 2006, FM World tracked down the rising stars to find out what they’ve been up to over the past four years.

Playing his customary heads-and-tails game at last night’s event, BIFM CEO Ian Fielder raised more than £100 for Macmillan Cancer Care.
